Wow, this post really puts career building into perspective and the risk/reward factor for certain actions. It still feels so hard to start anything even when knowing what do though. I think I need to figure out my career in general first.
Glad to hear it was helpful! Totally hear you that starting is certainly tough. I’d actually argue, though, that many of these things should be pursued out of (1) interest or (2) understanding. In terms of interest, if you follow where your passions lie, you can hopefully build them into core components of your career. In terms of understanding, many of these activities can help you refine your approach and create focus. Can definitely add “how to pick your career” as a future post later this year!
So quick to respond! I get how you should pursue something out of interest but what do you mean by pursuing out of understanding? And I'll be definitely looking forward to that future post, would help tons! This is the first post I read from Gridology actually, so I'll look through some past posts as well.
By understanding I mean: can you test some scattered ideas to gain more focus? Can you set up 1:1 chats to learn more about certain industries? Can you go to events to learn more about a profession of interest?

Ahh, I see. Thanks for the clarification!
